Do I need a referral from my primary care physician to schedule with you?

No. In the state of Arizona, we have "direct access", meaning that you can come to see us whenever you would like.

Why don't you take my insurance?

Remedy Physical Therapy is a fee for service clinic. We are not contracted with any insurance companies or Medicare. If you do have insurance, you can be provided a receipt of billing codes that can be submitted to your insurance for reimbursement for an out of network treatment. The amount of reimbursement will vary with different carriers. Remedy does not submit your claim for reimbursement. If you would like to know the normal reimbursement rate for your specific insurance, call your insurance provider and ask about reimbursement for "out of network Physical Therapy" treatment. Make sure to ask if pre-authorization or other requirements prior to treatment are necessary for reimbursement. Due to the amount of different insurance policies, Remedy cannot know the specifics of your plan.
Also, please consider that w
e accept HSA debit / credit cards, so the money you already have saved up for your healthcare can be used.

What about Medicare?

Medicare is different than commercial insurance. At this time, physical therapists that are not associated with Medicare cannot see patients enrolled in Medicare. Law prevents us from providing Medicare patients with care that would be considered “normally covered services.” Please contact support@remedyphx.com for further information.

If I cannot use my health insurance, why should I schedule with you?

We work differently than most other physical therapy clinics. We set a goal to have you at least 80% better by the third visit. Most other therapy clinics will look to extend your plan of care, sometimes to 20 visits or more. If you have a co-pay associated with your insurance, that money can add up quick. Not to mention, depending on a physical therapist's schedule, you could be spending the majority of your time with a clinical assistant or technician who may have minimal training. We avoid all of these concerns with hour long appointments with a doctor of physical therapy.

Do I have to do anything before the first session?

Yes!
  • You will be emailed forms securely through the online system. Please complete these before the first visit.
  • Wear comfy, loose fitting, or athletic clothes to your session. Clothing options such as jeans, sweaters, formal office wear, flip flops, etc. will be more difficult to work with. Have a change of clothes ready for your sessions!

I am scheduled to have surgery, but I would like to have a second opinion. Is that something that you do?

Absolutely. If you or someone you know had a brief visit with a surgeon before being scheduled for surgery, contact us. We will evaluate the body area, provide a diagnosis, and work with you to determine what the best plan of care for you will be.
